When it comes to the Outer Banks, breakfast might as well be a religion. It doesn't matter what day of the week, breakfast is an important time of day. Some use it as a family outing and enjoy a breakfast buffet with the whole crew. Others enjoy this time to themselves, choosing a local coffee shop to relax and catch up on a good book or the local paper. No matter your preference, there's a breakfast spot for you.
Morning View Coffeehouse
Morning View Coffeehouse is a local coffee shop. They have delicious pastries and a cozy shop to enjoy your drink and either catch up on the news or escape the world. Locals love Morning View, as it's near a local surf shop.
It's practically guaranteed you'll run into some local surfers, skaters, and students when visiting Morning View.
Front Porch Coffee
Front Porch Coffee has several locations up and down the beach. They have a great ambience, encouraging you to sit and stay. They also support local bakeries and business bringing in confections, bagels, and pastries from up and down the beach. No matter your beverage of choice, Front Porch can whip up any half-caf / double tall / easy caramel / light whip drink you desire.
Bob's Grill
Bob's Grill caused quite a stir when it opened with its tagline, "Eat and get the hell out!" Now, Bob's is one of the most popular breakfast places on the beach. Bob's fast-paced restaurant serves up good food and fast. And while the servers and staff are truly lovely to work with, you might get a few stares if you feel like lingering about after your meal. With its massive popularity, there's usually a line out the door to get a table.
There's no doubt you will enjoy your breakfast at Bob's, just be sure to eat and get the hell out.
Dunes
The Dunes is an Outer Banks Institution. It's survived hurricanes, floods, and a fire over the years and each time, it comes back stronger than before. The Dunes has an extensive menu, but it's most well-known for it's delicious breakfast, lunch, and brunch buffet items. The Dunes is an excellent place for a huge family meal and has something to please everyone in your group. The Dunes fills up fast and waits can be extensive.
Large groups may require a reservation.
Ten O Six
Ten O Six is a delicious restaurant serving up the best bacon on the beach. Whether you fancy a breakfast burrito, boars head deli sandwich, or simple bacon and eggs, the guys at Ten O Six know how to cook it up. There's not much seating available, but Ten O Six is located on the beach road and steps from the ocean.
You can sit outside on the covered porch or get your order to go and have a breakfast picnic right on the ocean.
Pro Tip: You'll want an extra side of bacon. It's that good.
It's easy to see why breakfast is the best meal of the day with so many places to enjoy.
